Greetings ~
Horses and carriages. Back in June of 2010 the wife and I drove to Randolph, Ohio, not far from our home, to attend the Horse and Carriage show at the Randolph Fairgrounds. For a weekend, not many folks showed up. The weather was beautiful and I was surprised.
The horses were beautiful as well as the buggies, salkies and wagons that were on display. For some folks that may not be all that interested in this sort of thing, the day could have been somewhat boring. There was no horses doing tricks or anything like that. It was actually just a bunch of horse people gathering for a weekend of fun with their horses.
They rode them around an arena area and there was a judging, for what I don't know. The whole thing was not really very visitor friendly in the respect that you really didn't know what was going on at any given time. But the horses were very nice to watch and the carriages were beautiful. So we did enjoy ourselves.
We were there for around three hours or so. I took a bunch of photos and a lot of video of the event. This blog is simply a record of that day. To the owners and trainers of the horses and carriages, it was not your fault. The Randolph staff was not very good at putting on this event. Your horses and carriages were well worth the visit. The wife and I had a great time as far as the horses. The owners and trainers were very nice and actually seemed to enjoy answering questions and talking to everyone.
I hope you enjoy the pictures here. The horses put on a good show. It's just too bad it took place at Randolph, Ohio.
